To ensure autorun and distribution:
Modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] 'VistaUpgrade' = '<SYSTEM32>\vista.exe'
Creates the following files on removable media:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\a.exe
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
Malicious functions:
Creates and executes the following:
- <SYSTEM32>\vista.exe <Full path to virus>
Hides the following processes:
- <SYSTEM32>\vista.exe
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- <SYSTEM32>\vista.exe
Sets the 'hidden' attribute to the following files:
- <Drive name for removable media>:\autorun.inf
- <Drive name for removable media>:\a.exe
Deletes itself.
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'gl###.opendns.be':8080
UDP:
- DNS ASK gl###.opendns.be
